Exeter School, Corby

This project, which involved the merging of the infant and junior schools, maximizes the potential of the constricted site. All new buildings link to the former infants’ building, and gently sloping roofs enable an appropriate human scale to be achieved. The junior school building will be demolished.

A new Key Stage One block incorporates six classrooms and a small hall. Four classrooms in the existing building were reconfigured to provide two larger Key Stage Two classrooms and two group rooms. An extension provides two further Key Stage Two classrooms and a WC block. A new Children’s Centre now forms a link to the nursery, which has been partially refurbished.
