CDM Co-ordinator

The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations were introduced to help reduce accidents and ill health in the construction industry and applies to all construction work.

Anyone undertaking notifiable construction work is legally bound to appoint a CDM Co-ordinator as soon as possible. The regulations also apply to civil engineering work.

BCAL is a registered member of the Association for Project Safety and has been advising clients on the Regulations since they came into force.

The CDM Co-ordinator’s duties include giving advice and assistance to the client with their duties, notifying the HSE, co-ordinating health and safety aspects of design work, facilitating good communication between client, designers and contractors, liaison with principal contractor regarding ongoing design, identify, collect and pass on pre-construction information and prepare / update health and safety file.

BCAL acted as CDM Co-ordinator on the extensive development at Nene Park, which includes a 6,500 capacity football stadium, sports hall and extensive conference and banqueting facilities.
